Find balance, say YES to the right things

“There’s a great quote by a Canadian writer – Adventure without risk is Disneyland,” says Chris Charlton, the founder and principal of Charltons.

Chris has certainly been open to risk in the 30 years since he founded his company from a small one-man operation in North Sydney. He’s grown his practice into a constantly evolving team that works across multiple disciplines to serve and guide thousands of clients.

“As a business owner, you’re going to be faced with a lot of challenges and opportunities. We’ve seen this from our clients time and time again, and the difficulty is always trying to say Yes to the right things.”

For Chris, a part of that focus on embracing opportunities has been ensuring that Charltons is a technologically forward company, ready to stay on the edge and stay in touch with the latest developments.

Chris has seen his practice move from simple calculators to tablets and smartphones running cloud based software, enabling Charltons to stay mobile and provide constant support for their partners and clients.

“You’re going to find that growing a business is about embracing change and embracing the chances to achieve more and be more.”

Charltons has always tried to teach their clients about how important it is to take on new challenges and stay open to opportunities, but to make the right decision with the right information and advice. Saying YES is tough, but it’s also incredibly rewarding, something that Chris firmly believes.

That belief in the power of YES and the strengths that can be drawn from new ideas is what has inspired Chris to join the judging panel for #YesisMore, a competition to reward brave business owners who say YES.

Got a story to tell? Enter Yes is More before midnight on Sunday 26 June to win $5,000 for your business.
